October was a great month for team outings with Carol, Richard, Chris, Tory, Alan, Michal and Dee all getting the chance to visit some of our fantastic destinations at leisure, with friends and family. We love planning and hosting trips and tours but you can’t beat getting out and about to all the fantastic destinations that we’ve got within driving distance.
Tory, Carol and Richard hit the capital to listen to The RPO’s twist on iconic Queen hits at The Royal Albert Hall. The atmosphere was incredible as the acoustics bounced and the audience bopped – this stunning venue never disappoints. Tory said “The musicians surprised us with an interval dress change with many of them reappearing as Freddie Mercury lookalikes! The music kept us smiling all the way through, accompanied perfectly by VOCES8 on vocals. Chris and Alan were mesmerised by Cirque du Soleil at Birmingham Arena - “Still as uniquely entertaining as when I first saw them many years ago. Typically offbeat Cirques styles with some amazing performances. A very enjoyable evening that appeals across a wide age range.” said Chris. We’ve got tickets for the European Premier run of Cirque du Soleil’s KURIOS, on Thur 9 Feb from £110 – back within the awesome atmosphere at the Royal Albert Hall!
Dee was officially declared our resident “Dancing Queen” this month when she stepped on board the Tereza Joanne in London’s Royal Docks for a fun-filled afternoon of ABBA hits. “After a trip to the bar we took our seats – that offered great views of the show and the spectacular London skyline from our floating venue! The fun ABBA tribute act soon had the dance floor as full as our bellies after a delicious lunch.” said Dee. Our 2022 date for this exciting afternoon was a total sell-out, don’t miss our 2023 Voulez Vous show on Tue 21 Feb @ £75pp.
Michal and his family were lucky enough to bag tickets to the dress-rehearsals of Thursford’s Christmas Spectacular, a world-renowned show that’s celebrating its 45th anniversary! Here’s what Michal’s daughter, Maria, had to say. “We walked through the welcoming gates to be greeted by a luminous display of colourful lights that created a magical atmosphere. After absorbing the magnificence of the outside decorations, we made our way to the café where the warmth wasn’t only coming from the delicious drinks but also people’s open hearts. On taking our seats we were struck by the wonders of the place, it looked truly magical. The room looks like a child’s dream, with reindeers moving across the ceiling and even an ornate carousel in the corner. Shortly after, the show started, and it was clear straight away that these are the best performers in the UK. The singing was remarkable, as each singer holds a different note without hesitation or timidity and the dancing comes from all sorts of different backgrounds and cultures which was mesmerising to watch. The whole night was a continuity of festivities, joy and laughter. A perfect introduction to Christmas.” There’s still chance to see the show this year, tickets are on request but we’d be delighted to contact Thursford for extra seats.
