We’ve just returned from a wonderful three days with some lovely guests on our annual Reunion tour, held for the first time in the Garden of England. Highlights included a great night listening to likeable Michael Bublé tribute act, Jason Allen, who regaled us with a warming selection of feel-good tunes that we could all sway along to. The talented Fallen Angels took us 'Through the Decades' on our Gala Dinner evening and had most of us up on the dance floor at some stage - and well done to everyone who stayed the course for the traditional group dance led by Carl at the end!
Everyone enjoyed their trip across the Kingsferry Bridge to the Isle of Sheppey where we had a fascinating visit to the Criterion Heritage Centre, where there was just so much to see that we're hoping to feature a day trip later this year. Our last port of call was Hever Castle to see the beautiful Christmas arrangements and to enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch at the Pavilion by the lake. I'm afraid that the eChristmas crackers proved to be too much of a challenge for some of us but perhaps it was the mulled cider that was our undoing!
Thank you to everyone who helped to make this year's Reunion so successful - and thank you, too, to those members of our team stayed in Maxey to 'hold the fort'.
Check out the pics on our Facebook page.
Look out for details of our 2024 Reunion when we’ll be celebrating 102 years of Shaws, details coming soon!
PS. And if you're wondering "why the tartan?", our Gala Dinner took place on St. Andrew's Day.
