The minutes simply flew by on a recent visit to the impressive Gates Garden Centre – a visit here never fails to delight, especially if it includes a tasty treat from the Restaurant or the Tea Room. Any thoughts of dieting just fly out of the window when you see the delicious cakes on offer and, talking of windows, the large and spacious Restaurant has a lovely countryside view. On a fine day, make the most of it by finding a table on the outdoor balcony.
Make sure that you leave time to shop, too, as the store is a treasure trove of gorgeous goods with everything from unusual home décor to outdoor furniture and lighting. There are quality gift ideas galore for everyone from tiny tots to granny and grandpa. And, of course, outside you’ll find a lovely selection of shrubs and plants, all in tip top condition, along with everything you need for the garden. During our visit, the Gates staff were so polite and helpful so don’t hesitate to ask if you need help or advice.
The Deli is a recent addition and clearly a popular one – but it’s probably a good idea to visit it before you gorge yourself on Afternoon Tea!
