Take time for a relaxing holiday at this classic Sussex resort, where listening to the band is a favourite pastime on a fine, sunny day. We’ll stay at the privately owned Best Western Lansdowne Hotel, which has been in the same family ownership since 1912. Its seafront position, overlooking the Western Lawns and Wish Tower with splendid views of the sea and Beachy Head is complimented by the personal touch that four generations of the same family ensures (much like Shaws)! The town centre and pier are both less than five minutes’ walk from the hotel. There's an open top sightseeing bus tour operating out of Eastbourne with 16 stops that you can hop on and off at. Highlights include The Pier, Lifeboat Museum, Italian Gardens, Lighthouse and Birling Gap. Click for route information and details of their 24 hour tickets. Eastbourne Bandstand have just released over 140 shows for the 2024 seasons including the return of Wednesday's traditional proms' night which culminates triumphantly in Tchaikovsky's 1812 Overture accompanied by fireworks! Tickets prices from just £9 on Wed 5 June (book direct).

Southern Sussex gardens look beautiful at this time of year, and that's why we've included entry to no less than three beautiful spots. Great Dixter Gardens are a firm favourite with our customers and a place of pilgrimage for horticulturalists across the world. The wild botanic garden at Wakehurst is part of the Royal Botanic Gardens and cared for by the National Trust, click to find out about all the attractions at this special site. The family home at Penshurst Place has no less than 1 mile of yew hedging separating their beautiful 'Garden Rooms', view their interactive map to find out what you can expect and look out for the new Victorian Kitchen which opened last spring - this previously hidden area has been carefully restored to its original design.

This is always a popular location, ready our 2023 reviews: "Lovely meal and gardens at Penshurst" and "Special displays with an imaginative layout at Great Dixter".

We always recommend taking out adequate holiday insurance, that's why we’ve partnered with SunWorld holiday insurance who can offer single or annual multi-trip cover. Get your free custom quote.
