See the newly conserved Vita's Tower Writing Room at Sissinghurst, where hours of careful analysis has allowed this incredible female creative space to be brought back to its former 1940s glory. Adventure along the historic and undisturbed Wood Walk at Sheffield Park Garden before it closes for "winter rest", admiring sculptures from a local artist along the way and enjoy panoramic views from the Edwardian garden at Emmetts from one of the highest points in Kent.

Monday
Check in to your coastal hotel in the classic resort of Eastbourne, with tea/coffee on arrival.
Tuesday
Visit the romantic, world-renowned gardens at Sissinghurst Castle. Ten distinctly different ‘garden rooms’, imagined by poetic designers whose vision was to create a colourful ‘refuge of beauty’. Enjoy free time in the typical country town of Tenterden, with lovely shops and pretty streets to wander amongst. Pause at Bedgebury Pinetum, en route back to the hotel, to admire the autumnal hues.
Wednesday
Spend the day enjoying your surroundings in Eastbourne, the town centre and pier are less than five minutes’ walk from the hotel so spend a day by the sea, at your leisure.
Thursday
Ride through 11 miles of glorious Sussex scenery on the carefully preserved steam locomotives and carriages that run along the Bluebell Line. Then delight in the calming autumn colours at Sheffield Park Gardens, where four lakes form the heart of this “horticultural work of art”, with ‘Capability’ Brown influences.
Friday
On our journey home we’ll stop to enjoy the 19th century hillside gardens at Emmetts. Plants from across the world thrive at one of the highest spots in Kent, offering panoramic views over the unspoilt Weald countryside.
