Crowned a UNESCO World Heritage site this popular town thrives on history and heritage, so what better place to base yourself for Snowdonia's best bits! The mighty 13th century castle, bordered by sailing boats bobbing on the calm waters, dominates the backdrop, whilst narrow streets, tucked away in the town, give you the chance to seek out local products.

Monday
It’s a medieval start to the day at Caernarfon Castle - a mighty UNESCO World Heritage fortress on the banks of the River Seiont holding 700 years of history! Time for a scenic drive to Betws-Y-Coed, nestled between two waterways and full of inviting eateries. Our final stop is The National Slate Museum where the history of an industry that has chiselled itself into Welsh culture comes to life. If you’d prefer a full day (or am/pm) exploring Caernarfon just let your driver know.
Tuesday
Cross the Menai Strait to Plas Cadnant Hidden Gardens on the Isle of Anglesey where the grounds are being carefully restored to their 19th century glory. To date a curved walled garden, a secret valley garden and an upper woodland garden have been brought back to life. There’s time to enjoy the seaside charm of Beaumaris before making our way to the pier for an 80-minute Puffin Island cruise – expect spectacular scenery and an array of wildlife.
Wednesday
Time for an unforgettable journey through mountains and countryside on the UK’s longest heritage railway. A 90 minute ride in traditional carriages takes you from Caernarfon, past the foot of Mount Snowdon to the pretty village of Beddgelert. We'll take the short, scenic drive to the unique village of Portmeirion where pretty colour-washed buildings and a central piazza create an Italian ambiance on this private peninsula.
