Sunday

An early start ensures we reach Holyhead for our afternoon sailing to Dublin before continuing to Mullingar for an overnight stay at the 3-star Bloomfield House Hotel.

Monday

Travel south-west, pausing in Limerick and Castleisland, before receiving a friendly Irish welcome at Kenmare Bay with tea/coffee. Limerick sits on the vast River Shannon and is the Gateway City to the Wild Atlantic Way with a lively atmosphere and a leading contemporary art gallery. Castleisland is a historic market town with quiet river walks and a wide, bustling Main Street.

Tuesday

Be dazzled by the impressive treasures inside Bantry House. This ‘Palazzo’ style stately home and garden, overlooking the bay, has been inspired by the continental travels of former owner – the 2nd Earl of Bantry. Enjoy free time in Bantry – known for its fresh mussels from the clear waters and its warm and friendly café culture before continuing to Glengariff. From here, take the boat across the sheltered harbour to Garnish Island. A unique microclimate, Italianate architecture, mountain and sea vistas and an incredible plant collection combine to create a truly unique ‘island garden’ that is both rare and beautiful. Please note that the terrain is uneven and there are some steep inclines on Garnish Island, suitable footwear is advised. Credit cards are not accepted on Garnish Island.

Wednesday

Derreen Garden is set on a peninsula at the head of Kilmackillogue Harbour, surrounded by the Caha Mountains. Winding paths lead to a mature 19th century woodland garden that shelters tropical plants collected in the late 1800s during expeditions across the Himalayas and beyond. As you soak up the incredible views look out for sika deer, red squirrels, seals and otters. Spend the afternoon at leisure in the hotel or wander to the picturesque town of Kenmare where there’s a colourful array of continental style shops, bars and restaurants along Main Street.

Thursday

Sit back and enjoy the view during a full day tour of the famous ‘Ring of Kerry’. Each turn brings a new treat to the eye, expect to see lakes, rivers, waterfalls, castles and unforgettable views of the McGillicuddy Reeks Mountains and the spectacular coastline, during this 179km route to remember!

Friday

Depart after breakfast for an overnight stay at 4-star CityNorth Hotel on the outskirts of Dublin. Stretch your legs in Blarney with pretty shops and eateries in The Square and the chance to pick up an Irish souvenir at the Woollen Mills. Then, pause in the small town of Cashel with a colourful and lively Main Street overlooked by the dominant Rock of Cashel.
