Britain’s only coastal National Park – craggy yet calm, wild yet peaceful. This beautiful stretch of coast and country is dotted with lively harbours, pastel-coloured towns, soft sandy villages and deep green valleys. The perfect place for a late summer stay.

This tour takes in the colourful coastal towns of Tenby and Aberaeron and the unique mini city of St. Davids. Discover the area's rich roots in the wool industry and, in contrast, the elevated lifestyle of those that lived in the valley mansions of Llanerchaeron and Picton Castle. Look out for the opening of the renovated Weaving Shed at The National Wool Museum, set to house historic looms operated by skilled craftspeople. In 2022, Llanerchaeron refreshed Pamela Ward’s curious collection of antiques. The Pamela Ward Collection is eclectic, diverse and intriguing, featuring tapestries dating back to the 17th century!

Picton Castle, Llanerchaeron and The National Wool Museum are all winners of a 2023 Travellers’ Choice Award from Tripadvisor – this is only awarded to attractions that are ranked within the top 10% and consistently earn great visitor reviews! Castle Beach in Tenby won Sunday Times Beach of the Year 2019.

We always recommend taking out adequate holiday insurance, that's why we’ve partnered with SunWorld holiday insurance who can offer single or annual multi-trip cover. Get your free custom quote.

Monday

Check in with tea/coffee.

Tuesday

Britain’s smallest city, St Davids, owes its status to the 12th century purple sandstone cathedral which dominates the tranquil vale in which it sits. Spend time in this quaint, character-full place surrounded by National Park scenery. Continue to Pembrokeshire’s finest stately home – Picton Castle. The ancient building has roots as a medieval castle, transformed into an 18th century home for the elite. The surrounding gardens boast one of the best plant collections in Wales including an enchanting Walled Garden and an exotic Jungle Garden.

Wednesday

Discover how a picturesque Welsh valley village became the centre of Wales’ global wool industry at The National Wool Museum. Try your hand at carding, spinning and sewing as you follow the process from fleece to fabric inside restored listed mill buildings. Continue to the Ceredigion coast to spend time amongst the charming, colourful houses that fill the little town of Aberaeron. Perhaps treat yourself to ice cream whilst enjoying views across the harbour. Finish the day at Llanerchaeron, an elegant Georgian mansion, remarkably unaltered for over 200 years and set within the beautiful Aeron Valley. Compare the classical details of the villa to the servants’ quarters, discover a curious antique collection and wander in the Walled Garden.

Thursday

Enjoy a scenic drive through the National Park to spend time at leisure in the seaside town of Tenby amongst its small harbour, soft sandy beaches, friendly local vibe, pastel-coloured Victorian houses and tranquil sea views.
