Monday
Take a unique private taxi tour, with an expert guide, visiting some of the iconic locations that shaped the lives and inspired the music of the world-famous Beatles. Highlights include their childhood homes, Penny Lane, Eleanor Rigby’s grave and the location where 15-year-old McCartney met Lennon for the very first time! There are photo opportunities and refreshment stops along the way with free time to explore Liverpool in the afternoon.
Tuesday
Enjoy a fresh and alternative view of the city this morning on board one of the world-famous Mersey Ferries. This 50-minute River Explorer Cruise passes some of the city’s most iconic sights and is accompanied by expert recorded commentary guiding you through Liverpool’s maritime and musical history. Liverpool is one of the UK’s most cultural destinations with a wealth of museums, galleries and shops - find contemporary art at Tate Liverpool (at RIBA North), uncover history at the Museum of Liverpool or submerge yourself in Liverpool’s seafaring past at the Maritime Museum, as you explore at leisure this afternoon.
Wednesday
Depart after breakfast to spend time at an equally iconic waterfront destination on the outskirts of Manchester. You’ll find interesting exhibitions and displays at the Imperial War Museum North and The Lowry Galleries (both free entry), 85 outlet shopping stores at Quayside MediaCityUK and a whole host of tempting eateries and entertainment options. Wander a little further and there’s even a 600-year-old half-timbered Tudor manor house at Ordsall Hall – again – free entry!
