Stay in the most beautiful corner of England as we tour the magnificent scenery of the Lake District National Park. The endless scenery in this tranquil part of the country is just one of many reasons why you’d want to tour through England’s largest National Park – now a designated World Heritage Site. Unspoilt towns dot their way through the mountains and fells of this rugged green landscape that’s home to England’s tallest mountain and deepest lake – Scafell Pike and Wastwater. One of the best ways to enjoy the scenery is from the water itself, with a cruise across Lake Windermere and a drive along the shores of Coniston Water and Thirlmere.
Visit two of the area's impressive historical attractions at Holker Hall and Muncaster Castle. Holker's award-winning gardens should be full of colour and you can take a peek at the uniquely decorated rooms inside Holker by clicking here. Muncaster Castle are winners of Small Visitor Attraction of the Year at the 2022 Cumbria Tourism Awards, click to take a drone tour of the castle and surrounding scenery.

Monday
Sit back and enjoy the scenery en route to the hotel.
Tuesday
We’ll drive along the coast and fells of West Cumbria to board the scenic Ravenglass & Eskdale Railway, affectionately known as ‘La’al Ratty’. Originally built in 1873, it’s one of the oldest and longest narrow-gauge railways in the country. Finish the day in the impressive surroundings of Muncaster Castle. See the sumptuous State Rooms and ancient Great Hall of this lived-in family-home, then enjoy breathtaking Lakeland views from the historic gardens.
Wednesday
Visit the sixteenth century home of the Cavendish family at Holker Hall. This intricately decorated house is set in beautiful countryside, framed by the Lakeland Hills. The immaculate, award-winning gardens were the BBC Countryfile Garden of the Year 2016 and are full of colour in spring/summer. Enjoy time by the sea at Grange-over-Sands, at the tip of the Cartmel Peninsula, betwixt the mountains and sea.
Thursday
Travel along the shores of Coniston Water and Thirlmere to the small market town of Keswick, where the impressive 19th century Moot Hall (now home to the TIC) dominates the bustling Market Square. Back on the coach we’ll pass the western end of Ullswater before ascending the famous Kirkstone Pass, reaching an altitude of 1489 ft at its highest point! A relaxing cruise on Lake Windermere from Bowness to Lakeside will round off your day nicely.
