Cross the Scottish border at Gretna Green and then head west along the memorable shorelines of the Solway Firth to discover this beautiful part of Scotland where you’ll find spectacular unspoilt scenery, sandy beaches, rugged coastline, acres of forest and beautiful exotic gardens, all blessed by a climate that’s warmed by the Gulf Stream!

Along with a local (and tasty!) farm tour there are visits to three grand gardens - from the exotic at Logan Botanic to the traditional at Castle Kennedy and finishing up at Culzean Castle & Country Park, which came joint third in Which Magazine’s 2022 Top Rated Historic Attractions with a full 5/5 star rating for its facilities!

This tour is extremely popular with customers with excellent reviews in 2021 and 2022, here's what customers had to say following our last tour - "Loved everything, will go on this holiday again", "Moos & Coos, exceptionally informative couple & superb afternoon tea" and "A brilliant holiday all round. Every day was well planned with plenty to do. Hotel was great".

We'd be delighted to request more rooms from the hotel for this popular tour, please send through your booking request and we'll check availability.

Sunday

Enjoy a scenic drive to the hotel.

Monday

Experience the exotic at Logan Botanic Garden where an almost sub-tropical climate enables fascinating plants from around the world to flourish! Visit the picture-postcard, pastel-coloured harbour town of Portpatrick, where cliffs surround the small bay. This afternoon, visit Castle Kennedy Gardens, where you’ll find a riot of colour in the Walled Garden & rare Victorian waterlilies in the round pond – with impressive castle ruins for the backdrop.

Tuesday

Look for the distinctive shape of Ailsa Craig as we take the coast road to the Robert Burns Birthplace Museum which holds over 5000 artefacts and the opportunity to visit the humble cottage where life began for Scotland’s national poet. Then to cliff-top Culzean Castle, designed by Robert Adam in the late 18th century, this treasure trove is bursting with artefacts from one of the oldest clans in Scotland.

Wednesday

Travel inland, stopping for a wildlife photo opportunity at Red Deer Range before arriving at The Clatteringshaw Visitor Centre to enjoy tranquil loch views. This afternoon, learn about local farming traditions during a ‘Kitchen Coos & Ewes’ guided tour, with cream tea, at Airyolland Farm.
