This beautifully converted 18th century tannery is just twenty minutes drive from Lake Windermere, at the gateway to the Lake District. Monday
Warm up with tea/coffee on arrival then get to know your fellow guests whilst settling in with a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie this evening.
Tuesday
Revel in Kendal’s festive atmosphere on Christmas Eve, maybe treat yourself to something special from the town’s lovely local shops? The High Street is adorned with beautiful buildings and architecture that look particularly magical at Christmastime. This evening, enjoy an atmospheric candlelit dinner followed by parlour games in the lounge.
Wednesday
Merry Christmas one and all! Relax at the hotel or attend the local church service before your 5 course Christmas lunch with celebratory Bucks Fizz. Later, watch the King’s Speech, wrap up for a riverside walk or unwind in the lounge before tonight’s buffet.
Thursday
After a leisurely breakfast, enjoy a scenic ride to Bowness in the heart of the Lake District. From here, set sail for a 90-minute cruise on Windermere – Britain’s largest lake. Expect to see magnificent mountains, secluded bays and hidden islands during this spectacular voyage through a (white?) winter landscape. Warm up with tea and Christmas cake back at the hotel and sharpen your wits before this evening’s Boxing Day quiz.
Friday
The scenery continues on our journey home as we travel through the wintery Yorkshire Dales.
