Enjoy an early summer break on the English Riviera, staying on Torquay's picturesque headland. Palm trees, a bustling harbour, glistening boats in the marina, sandy beaches and stylish cafés, bars and restaurants – you could be anywhere. Much of Devon is designated as an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, head inland to experience the seemingly endless scenery of Dartmoor National Park where wild ponies roam this rugged protected landscape.

Monday
Check in with tea/coffee on arrival.
Tuesday
Enjoy some peace and tranquillity at Buckfast Abbey on the edge of Dartmoor National Park. The original 11th century Abbey is complimented by spacious gardens, a restaurant and gift shops. Visit the charming estuary town of Kingsbridge in the South Devon AONB before continuing along the heritage coast past Slapton Sands, where a stone monument commemorates the ill-fated WWII ‘Operation Tiger’. Finish the day with free time in the picturesque naval town of Dartmouth.
Wednesday
Spend the day at leisure on the English Riviera. Make the most of the hotel’s leisure facilities and gardens, enjoy a scenic stroll along the South West Coastal Path or make use of the complimentary taxi service to Torquay Harbour. The service departs at approx. 10:00 and returns at 16:30 (please pre-book before 09:30).
Thursday
Drive through Dartmoor's uninterrupted scenery to Princetown, high in the moors and home to the infamous Napoleonic prison. Spend the afternoon at Morwellham Quay’s working museum, this prime site was once the greatest copper ore port in Queen Victoria’s Empire. An enthusiastic guide will take you on a Living History Tour that’ll uncover the challenges faced in the rural world at the turn of the 20th century, with access to Ruth’s Cottage, which featured on the TV series Edwardian Farm.
