Our annual visit to the Cornish coastal village of St. Agnes is always a popular choice. The village is not only a World Heritage Site but also an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You’ll find no fewer than four unspoilt beaches from which dolphins, sharks and seals have all been spotted - and for fans of Ross Poldark, Winston Graham lived just down the road and used the whole Parish as the inspiration for his Poldark series of books, dubbing it ‘Poldark Country’!

Monday
Drive across the county to visit the bustling port of Falmouth, then enjoy a leisurely cruise along the River Fal and time to look round St. Mawes on the Roseland Peninsula. An important port in medieval times, it’s now a picturesque harbour protected by the most perfectly preserved of Henry VIII’s coastal fortresses, St Mawes Castle.
Tuesday
Spend a relaxing morning in St. Agnes and then enjoy our afternoon ride to the charming working fishing port of Padstow at the head of the Camel River and now one of Cornwall’s most popular resorts.
Wednesday
Spend the morning admiring the wonderful colours at Trengwainton Garden. Scattered amongst the pretty autumnal reds and oranges you’ll find late flowering camellias and pink rhododendrons, which add a vivid brightness that you wouldn’t expect at this time of year. We end the day at the picture-postcard harbour town of St. Ives, home to the Barbara Hepworth Museum and a branch of the Tate Gallery.
