Sunday
Check in to your Chester hotel, just a short stroll from the city centre.
Monday
Enjoy an introductory coach tour around the ancient walled city of Chester, then explore this historical destination at your leisure.
Tuesday
You’ll find some artistically crafted pieces at Pilkington’s World of Glass. Learn how they’re made, watch a glass blowing demonstration and uncover the history of glass from Ancient Egypt to Victorian life in St. Helens during a guided tour, finishing with a light lunch. This afternoon, wander in the beautiful gardens that surround Arley Hall. There are eight acres of formal gardens – including its impressive Herbaceous Border, probably the first to be planted in England!
Wednesday
Spend a day on the Wirral Peninsula, starting with a guided coach tour around the garden village of Port Sunlight. This ‘model village’ was founded in 1888 to house soap factory workers and is now considered to be one of the finest examples of early urban planning in the UK - with over 900 Grade II listed buildings across 130 acres of parkland. Continue to Ness Botanic Gardens where vibrant plants from all over the world thrive, and the views of the River Dee into North Wales are pretty special too.
Thursday
Check out after breakfast to visit the gorgeous gardens at Cholmondley Castle. There are eight areas to explore including the newly created 100m double Herbaceous Border, the Folly Water Gardens and Rose Garden
