For over 900 years Southwell Minster has been welcoming visitors, with hospitality at the heart of their offering. Start with a tour of this magnificent Minster with a knowledgable and friendly guide, who will take you to all the areas of the Minster - including the glorious Chapter House which has recently reopened after the completion of an impressive conservation project. During the tour you'll uncover incredible architecture, intricate stained-glass, Roman plasterwork and of course The Leaves of Southwell which were voted number one in the Association of English Cathedral's prestigious #CathedralTreasures competition. During the tour you'll pass through the Nave which features an incredible floating installation of planet Earth that's leaving visitors with a sense of awe and responsibility for our interconnected world. Renowned artist, Luke Jerram is known worldwide for his large-scale public artworks with this latest piece, Gaia (pictured), made up of incredibly detailed NASA imagery and complimented by a specially made sound composition by BAFTA award-winning composer, Dan Jones. We're due to arrive in Southwell at 10:45 with a 75 minute guided tour of the Minster beginning at 11:00. There's free time to enjoy the town before we depart for the Swan Sanctuary at 14:00. We'll arrive at 14:20 and head home at 16:45. Note for passengers boarding at Serpentine Green. There are road closures on the slip roads at junction 3 of the Fletton Parkway, the coach will pick up as planned but please allow more time to get to your departure point.
