Enjoy a 2-hour afternoon cruise on the Deben Estuary, a Special Protection Area that lies within the Suffolk Coast & Heaths AONB. Listen to interesting commentary on the river’s rich wildlife and history whilst enjoying a scone with jam/butter and a cup of tea/coffee. A 1-course, choice lunch at the Black Tiles Restaurant and Bar is included before your cruise. The Black Tiles became a refuge for troops during the Second World War, an American Officer wrote: “When I think of England I shall think of tea, and all that it means, and when I think of tea, I’ll think of Black Tiles. Someday I’ll come back to England for tea at Black Tiles.”
Lunch choices: Beer battered fish & chips with peas and tartare sauce; Cumberland sausages, mash potato and onion rings with proper gravy; Hunters chicken, chips and coleslaw; Roast tomato and pepper tagliatelle with goats cheese; Grilled fish, chips and peas (Gluten Free); Cajun chicken, chips and coleslaw (Gluten Free).
We're due to arrive at the Black Tiles at midday for lunch. At 13:15 we'll transfer to Deben Cruises for our 14:00 sailing. We'll return to dock at 16:00 and head home shortly afterwards.
