There's six huge hangers to explore at London's exciting RAF Museum, each one full of iconic aircraft, memorabilia, factual displays and hands-on experiences. Two new permanent exhibitions opened in 2023 the first was 'Strike Hard, Strike Sure: Bomber Command, 1939-1945' - this exhibition marks the 80th anniversary of the Dam Busters raid, it shares the Bomber Command story through the personal experiences of those that served. The second is titled 'Higher, Faster, Further - The RAF 1919-1939' which tells the story of the RAF's evolution and impressive technological advancement between the two world wars.
You'll find iconic aircraft such as the Avro Lancaster 1, Westland Sea King HAR3, Sepecat Jaguar GR.1, Supermarine Spitfire Mk XVI, Sopwith Snipe, Boeing CH47D Chinook, de Havilland Vampire F3, Panavia Tornado GR1B and hundreds more. This is an amazing chance to get up close to some of the most fascinating aircraft of our time. Take a video tour of RAF Museum London.
Immerse yourself in flight at one of the museum interactive attractions. Fly with The Red Arrows in the 4D Theatre, soar over the Lake District inside a Typhoon in the Flight Simulator and climb in to the cockpit during a Spitfire Experience. Please prebook tickets and times for these interactive experiences directly with the museum via their website before departure. There's an outdoor playground with mini-models of iconic aircraft to climb upon and explore. There's also a café, museum shop and art gallery plus you'll find free educational activity and trail sheets for children dotted around the hangers.
We're due to arrive at 11:45 and depart at 16:30. There will be a 30 minute services comfort stop on the outward journey.
