An unforgettable experience, with 150 acres of beautiful woodland and gardens to explore and home to nearly 400 thought-provoking memorials, each with a story to tell. Each year, new memorials are added so there’s always something different to see. This year, the Arboretum will be reflecting upon significant events of the Second World War in 1944 including the D-Day landings, the Battle of Imphal in India and stories from evacuees. A special exhibition, The Year Was 1944, takes visitors on a journey back to a wartime home in 1944 (here until 3 November).

At the heart of the Remembrance Centre is a fascinating, interactive exhibition called Landscapes of Life, which provides a preview of the Arboretum. With audio visual displays, hands-on interactives, artistic interpretation and the opportunity for visitors to share their experiences, it’s the perfect start to a visit.

Guided walks and talks take place daily and there is also a land train that takes visitors around the site – visit the Welcome Centre upon arrival to check timings and availability. You'll find homemade meals and snacks in the Restaurant and Coffee Shop along with high quality products in the shop, all of which are linked to the memorials, wildlife or stories to help remind you of your visit.

This beautifully cared for site won Best UK Attraction at the 2023 Group Leisure & Travel Awards for the third year running, with judges commenting that it is "a spectacular place to visit". The NMA also hold a 2023 Travellers' Choice Award from Tripadvisor (ranking within the top 10% of attractions on Tripadvisor!).

The coach is due to arrive at 11:45 and depart at 16:30. There will be a 30 minute services comfort stop on the outward journey.
