An unforgettable experience, with 150 acres of beautiful woodland and gardens to explore and home to 400 thought-provoking memorials, each with a story to tell. Each year, new memorials are added so there’s always something different to see. The memorials come in all shapes and sizes, from glass and steel to bronze and stone. Memorials remember the Armed Forces, emergency services, charities, the Commonwealth and many more worthy institutions and individuals.
At the heart of the Remembrance Centre is a fascinating, interactive exhibition called Landscapes of Life, which provides a preview of the Arboretum. With audio visual displays, hands-on interactives, artistic interpretation and the opportunity for visitors to share their experiences, it’s the perfect start to a visit.
Guided walks and talks take place daily and there is also a land train that takes visitors around the site – prebooking is advisable for this service and for the guided walks. You'll find homemade meals and snacks in the Restaurant and Coffee Shop along with high quality products in the shop, all of which are linked to the memorials, wildlife or stories to help remind you of your visit. This beautifully cared for site won Best UK Attraction at the 2022 Group Leisure & Travel Awards for the second year running, with judges commenting that it is "a spectacular place to visit".
Find out more about this very special site and don't miss our first ever spring visit when you can see the gardens beginning to blossom.
We're due to arrive at 11:45 and we'll depart at 16:30, there will be a short comfort stop on the outward journey.
