The year is 1645 and Lavenham is in crisis. The Civil War is raging, the Witchfinder General is on the prowl and the destitute weavers are rioting! Join our two actor guides on a light-hearted look at the history of Lavenham with all the nice bits taken out!

Start the day in Bury St Edmunds with time to explore the medieval streets and Georgian squares of 'Suffolk's Foodie Town' at your leisure. Then on to The Cock Horse in Lavenham where we've included a hot drink on arrival before two 17th century gaolers take you on a lantern lit walk around the town. We'll return to the Cock Horse to finish the day with a delicious choice for supper.

Main course: Fresh haddock and chips, mushy peas & tartare | Classic beef burger & fries | Butternut squash risotto with feta & pine nuts | Beef & ale pie with creamer potato 

Dessert: Brownie with chocolate sauce & vanilla ice cream | Sticky toffee pudding with ice cream & toffee sauce | White chocolate cheesecake with raspberry sorbet | Selection of ice creams

We're due to arrive in Bury St Edmunds at 12:30 with two hours to enjoy the town before arriving in Lavenham at 15:00. The walking tour starts at 16:00 and supper is booked for 17:30, we're due to head home at 18:45.
