Spend a couple of hours browsing the shops in the Derbyshire town of Matlock (find your way to Crown Square for a great choice of independent shops, cafés and pubs) before seeking out Christmas delights at Haddon Hall’s ‘Mercatum' Artisan Fair. Medieval Haddon’s beautifully decorated courtyards, rooms and galleries play host to over 180 talented artisans and makers, carefully curated to offer the best in luxury Christmas shopping. Ceramicists, artists, chocolatiers, jewellers, candle makers, artisan stationers, perfumers and many more will make your Christmas shopping a joy. But Mercatum is so much more than just a festive market. The Hall’s fairytale surroundings are made especially magical at Christmas, with multitudes of twinkling lights, luxurious decorations and beautiful Christmas trees grown on the Haddon Estate. Visitors can warm themselves with delicious freshly-made street food, hot chocolate and mulled wine, with live music making the cosy festive atmosphere complete.

The coach is due to arrive in Matlock at 11:30 and depart at 13:30 for the 15 minute journey to Haddon Hall. The coach will depart Haddon at 16:30 and collect any Matlock only passengers at 16:45 before heading home. There will be a 45 minute comfort break at Notcutts Nottingham on the outward journey.
