Who can fail to marvel at the beautiful old buildings that abound in the centre of Cambridge? You’ll get a chance to see them today, but you'll also be thrilled by our guided tour of one of the UK’s newest architectural treasures – the Cambridge Eco Mosque. Meet one of City & Village Tours' Blue Badge guides at the Mosque, which you enter via the Islamic Garden, a covered portico and then an atrium - not unlike the famous Alhambra in Granada. Designed by the same person who was behind the London Eye and the treetop walkway at Kew Gardens, there are some wonderful design features, like the roof which was inspired by the fan vaulting at nearby Kings College.

Later, there’ll be free time in central Cambridge, with the option to join our guide at the Fitzwilliam Museum - "the greatest little museum in the world”. You'll have time for private exploration as well as a highlights tour with the guide - prepare to be impressed!

Finally, to Grantchester where you can see the old country church at the centre of the TV drama – and what better than a delicious cream tea at the famous Orchard Tea Gardens to round off this lovely day be sure to check if the clock still stands at ten to three.

The coach will arrive at 10:30 ready to meet our guide over morning coffee and biscuits (included) at Cambridge Mosque, there's free time in Cambridge before transferring to Grantchester for cream tea (included), we'll head home at 16:00.

You might also like our Famous Graves at Highgate with lunch on Mon 23 Sep or Bury St. Edmunds and the Royal Observer Corps on Wed 23 Oct.
