Take a tour around this ancient market town with a top-rated Blue Badge guide from City & Village Tours, starting with morning coffee at the Pilgrim’s Kitchen, in the Rose Garden next to the Cathedral. Continue with a walking tour, mostly on the flat and mostly in the Gardens, where you’ll see the old Abbey ruins, the Magna Carta memorials, the Water Garden and the Pilgrim's Herb Garden. There's free time for lunch and individual exploration before meeting the guide for a short walk to the Guildhall, which dates back to the 1100s. For many centuries the building was at the heart of the town’s lucrative wool trade but it came to house a remarkable group of unsung local heroes who helped to change the course of WWII. Find out all about them during our visit to the Royal Observer Corps Operations Room, where local folk plotted aircraft sightings and alerted the RAF. It’s fascinating stuff and a cream tea in the Guildhall will provide a tasty ending.

The coach is due to arrive at 10:30 when you'll meet your guide over morning coffee (included) before beginning the tour, there's free time from 12:30-14:30 before regrouping for the afternoon tour, the coach will depart at 16:45.
