Step back in time at Beamish Museum where a multi-million pound ‘Remaking Beamish’ project has seen the opening of new exhibits including a 1950s Town and Farm (featuring a hairdresser, a pavilion and a chip shop) a Bus Depot and the expansion of the 1820s Landscape. This world famous, open air museum takes you on an immersive journey through life in the NE from the 1820s to the 1950s. Step inside a 1900s town and colliery, peep inside a pit village cottage, ride the colourful, heritage trams and experience wartime farming. There’s a full day's worth of discovery at Beamish along with a fitting choice of eateries including a tea room, chip shop and pub. Find out more.
